Description

An open, prostrate plant with slender spreading stems. Leaf size and shape variable -up to 20mm or so long (larger than other local Bossiaea species) egg-shaped, oval or circular. Yellow-orange pea-flowers September to November, followed by relatively thin-walled pods to 30mm long.  Sparse records scattered throughout all parts of the national park, though never abundant.

Etymology

Bossiaea named in honour of French botanist Joseph Hugues Boissieu La Martinière,  who participated in the La Pérouse expedition to Australia which was shipwrecked in 1788.

Prostrata derived from Latin prostratus, meaning 'lying flat' or 'prostrate'.  Refers to the growth habit of this species.
